Don't forget about The
Roswell-tree Road Race to be held this July 4th at Roswell Park that
benefits The Atlanta Community Food Bank. This great event is a fun run
in the truest sense. You see everyone who signs up is placed in a
division that includes only them - which ensures that when they
complete the race they will have won their division. Imagine that, a
race that you are guaranteed to win. There are a few other fun and
silly rules to abide by or not. For more information contact Sally
Jamara at her website www.roswelltree.org
On tonight's show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy learn all about how to connect with your inner truth so that you can release emotional barriers and energy blocks that cause pain and disease from author, blogger, speaker Deborah King. Deborah explained how illnesses of body, mind, and spirit are expressions of a personal imbalance with the truth.
Deborah said "To many, it's a radical notion, but I have witnessed countless healings in people who were simply willing, finally, to face the truth about something in their lives."
She is the author of Truth Heals: What You Hide Can Hurt
You (available early 2009). She is also a health & wellness expert, attorney, frequent
TV commentator, national keynote speaker, and a “healer to the stars.” You can also find her as regular blogger for The Huffington Post.
As a young attorney and hotel
developer, Deborah suffered from a host of emotional and medical problems,
culminating with cancer in her twenties. Her amazing recovery led her to leave
the corporate arena for the alternative medical field, where she mastered
ancient and modern healing systems and ultimately developed a powerful
technique of her own. She is trained to address both the mind and the body’s
health and disease processes (unlike a psychologist, who is restricted to the
mind) and makes frequent appearances on national news and entertainment
We were also joined by regulars Kathy and Fletcher Newbern who just got back to the United States in order to give us their Spa Report. They shared all kinds of stories about their recent, almost 3 week long, trip to the Maldive Islands. The are travel writers who are fortunate enough to spend their days enjoying the most exotic and fabulous destinations around the globe. To learn more about their latest adventure and to see beautiful pictures and read wonderful tales please go to their website www.yourspareport.com We started the show with good friend Matt Bryzcki, author of Youth Fitness: An Action Plan for Shaping America's Kids. Matt is the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation at Princeton University and has over 25 years experience at the collegiate level as a coach, instructor and administrator. Tonight he talked about the importance of doing each repetition in your strength training workout with good form and energy. He also had some great tips to help you choose your next personal trainer.

We closed the show with Lampkin Butts, COO of Sanderson Farms, one of the nation's finest poultry providers. Lampkin is also actively involved in informing the public about some misleading labeling practices authorized by the USDA for fresh poultry. You see some chicken providers are injecting their birds with salt water and calling them "Natural Chickens." Lampkin's group the Truthful Labeling Coalition doesn't want these compnaies to be able to do that without letting the consumer know about it in big bold letters, not sime fine print on the bottom of the packaging.
At Sanderson Farms where Lampkin works all his chickens are 100% All Natural Chicken no additives of any kind. He believes if you buy his chickens you should get all chicken. Amazingly the Fat Guy is being followed by over 3 dozen
people who are interested in what he eats each day. Who would have
thought? Anyone can follow the Fat Guy's eating exploits on
Twitter. Food journals are great ways to lose weight and the Fat Guy is
always trying anything in order to lose those last 20 pounds. So take a peek
into his food diary. You never know what he'll write. Somehow he can stay
compliant to writing on Twitter but he can't fit in exercise each day. That's
right, moments after he eats something the Fat Guy Twitters about it and you
can follow him so that one day if you try real hard you too can look like the
Fat Guy. Please go to www.twitter.com/fatguy
