![]() On tonight's show, Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy get the skinny
about all the weight loss and health benefits of jumping rope from Jump Snap inventor and Brad LaTour. If you want all the benefits of jumping rope but are too uncoordinated to do it properly (like the Fat Guy) you have to check this product out. Jump Snap is a ropeless jump rope. It has handles with a short rope and ball attached. You hold the handles and go through the motions of jumping rope. But there is no actual rope the Jump Snap has a speaker that makes the sound of the rope swinging and it keeps track of calories burned, how many repetitions you done and it even talks to you. ![]() On tonight's show, Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy get the skinny about how Dr Mark Hyman, a doctor who was struggling with his own health became a leader in the emerging field of functional medicine. You might remember Dr Hyman from his New York Times Best Selling Book Ultrametabolism or from his many years as the medical director at the famed Canyon Ranch. Or from his countless appearances on TV shows like the Today show, CNN, FOX, PBS and NPR. Well big news everyone Dr Hyman has a new book that is rocketing up all the best seller lists it's called "The UltraSimple Diet" This is the book if you want to lose weight fast but don't want to damage your health. He says you can lose up to 10 pounds in a week. During our interview Dr Hyman explained how he inadvertently discovered his weight loss plan. He shares how he himself was very ill and how the same methods he know teaches helped him cure himself. He gave tips about steps you need to detox yourself and shared the 3 steps you for good nutrition. Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. She is a true action hero. She has acted and worked as a stunt women. Now she is a kickboxing guru. She is the Director of the International Sport Kickboxing Association's Fitness Division. She was kind enough to take a break from her heavy bag and spend some time with us. Fitz shared a lot about herself and how she transformed herself from the young girl who was always riding the bench to the feared kickboxing professional who likes to mix it up in the ring. Her story is a great example of a person who may not have had the natural ability but she was willing to work hard and put in the time and effort to maximize her talents. Here are a few of Dr. Fitness' secrets about how to eliminate bad breath. Number 1, eat more citrus - it seems that the acid from Vitamin C helps get rid of bad breath - so eat a fruit. Number 2, enjoy some yogurt - it's got to be active culture though - sedentary culture just doesn't cut it. And Number 3, produce more saliva in your mouth by sucking on hard candy or a mint like say an Altoid. this seems like cheating but he said it. Here are a few of Dr. Fitness' secrets about how to watch out for seemingly healthy choices that pack a lot of calories at some of your favorite restaurants. Number 1, Ruby Tuesday's Veggie Burger has over 900 calories, bet you didn't know that. Number 2, Chili's grilled salmon meal gives you 8 oz of salmon some rice and veggies for about 700 calories - probably more than you thought but it sounds good to the Fat Guy. And Number 3, beware the Macha Green Tea Blast at Jamba Juice...that 32 ounce smoothie will cost you well over 600 calories. For that amount of calories I'd much rather have the salmon from Chili's. about how a small town girl from Massachusetts becomes a Playboy Playmate. Carrie Stevens, the former Miss June 1997 is now an actress, a model, a television host and writer. She has recently lost over 70 pounds and shares how she did it. She is a writer with The Hot Moms Club and some of her work can be found at www.hmcmagazine.com In the interview she told stories about what it's like at the Playboy Mansion and how dating the drummer for Kiss helped inspire and motivate her to take her career to the level it is today. When her son was born Carrie was over 70 pounds heavier than she was during her Playboy Playmate days and her "friends" at Hef's place doubted she could get her hotness back. That was inspiration enough for Carrie and she worked her butt off to get back to where she was. She takes a lot of pride in achieving all the fitness and weight loss goals she set for herself. ![]() On tonight's show, Doctor Fitness and the Fat Guy get the skinny about the Dr Gerald Musante's World Renowned Weight Loss Clinic and book called "Structure House" The Structure House Weight Loss Plan is rocketing up the best seller lists because it is less a diet and more about strategies and tools you can use to permanently change your poor eating behaviors and your relationship with food. Dr Musante spent a lot of time patiently explaining to the fat guy tips and techniques he could use to lose weight. A great weight loss tip from Dr Musante was to eat only three meals a day. During the interview everyone agreed that the best chance for the fat guy to lose weight and keep it off would be through an intervention at the Structure House in Durham, North Carolina. Now we have had bariatric surgeons on the show before but Lisa was the first bariatric survivor to join us. She has lost 75 pounds and kept it off for almost 2 years now. The surgery worked great for her and she has not had any setbacks. If you are considering bariatric surgery - Lisa did the lap band you have to listen to hear all about her experience. This surgery set her back a lot of money that she had to pay for out of pocket - but she does share a way that her mother got the surgery done for almost nothing.
