On tonight's show, Doctor Fitness and the Fat Guy get the skinny about how to live a life of meaning from Beth Aldrich. Beth is one of the most amazing people we have ever had on our show. She publishes a magazine called "For Her Information Chicago" and she is also the host of For Her Information TV on PBS. Beth tries to help conscious-minded women become more informed, inspired and empowered. She has mentored runners to run marathons and she herself has qualified and ran in the Boston Marathon. On our show Beth really inspired us to be tenacious with our passions and dreams and make things happen for ourselves. Ellen very generously sent the Fat Guy a weeks worth of the Zone Diet food in a effort to have him lose some weight and keep him on this planet for a little longer. The food was awesome. The quality was top notch. The Fat Guy did get a little overwhelmed when the huge box of portion controlled meals and snacks arrived on his doorstep. it took tremenous will power on his opart not to eat the entire box worth of food in one sitting. But overall he was very impressed with the whole operation. The Fat Guy's kid loved the mac and cheese and most of the healthy snacks that were in there, especially the soy bbq chips. The Doctor also shared his tips on how to what to do if you suffer from fibromyalgia. Therapies that work include: acupuncture, cognitive behaviorial therapy, chiropractic and exercise. We talked about some weight loss myths like...drinking water will cause you to lose weight (false); calories eaten after 8pm turn straight into fat (false). The Fat Guy tried to exercise last week and got depressed. We also talked a little about September 11 and how the Doctor, because of his intense fear of flying, initially thought the planes were crashing into the Twin Towers because of pilot error. In a 20 minute interview, Tim shares the details of his most amazing week as a music superstar to date...this week he appeared on the David Letterman show, the MTV Video Music Awards, the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy show and in a few days he'll be on Conan O'Brien's show. Learn the tip Justin Timberlake shared with OK GO as they rehearsed for the VMA's. Find out who's bright idea it was to dance on treadmills and which bands inspired the hottest group around.
