You might remember Jennifer's remarkable story from her appearance on Oprah or CBS Early Morning Show or even Inside Edition. After this amazing woman had her second son she decided to dedicate herself to transforming herself into a supermodel. And she did it. She lost some weight, about 70 pounds. Then she promptly won Ms. Bikini America. Since then she has appeared on countless magazine covers, like FHM, Maxim and more. She even has her own calendar, dvd and is working on a book. She has her own line of swimwear with Fiu Fiu. Hot moms don't come hotter than Jennifer. And what she has done for herself since having her kids is truly inspirational. We also were pleased to have on Louise Wanstall from ExtraPounds.com, her FREE, friendly and informative website has helped thousands of people lose weight and keep it off. She called in from Barcelona, Spain at around one in the morning so we are very grateful. www.ExtraPounds.com has proven to help people lose weight due to the vital support members receive from their fellow bloggers on the site. The website is fun and easy to navigate. Each member gets a blog, tracking devices and a fun avatar to help them stay on track. This is a great site for anyone who needs more support and accountablity in the weight loss program and Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy heartily recommend it.
Bob Gray from www.FitPod.com also joined us this evening. FitPod is also a free community online for everything fitness and iPod. They are fitness and music enthusiasts who are trying to build the best fitness and music site on the web. One of the funnest things on the site are the fitLists. A fitList is a playlist created for specific fitness or wellness activities. One of the keys to a good fitList is to match the Beats per Minute to the activity. For walking you need music that is around 110 beats per minute, while running you need to be in the 135-150 bpm range.
Dr. Fitness had some really good tips about how to avoid weight gain this Thanksgiving. We didn't get to all of them, but here a few of Dr. Fitness' tips...Number 1, try to make exercise part of your Turkey Day celebration, maybe a family walk after the meal or a game of football or even do a Turkey Trot in the morning. Number 2, watch the casseroles. And Number 3, watch the alcohol intake. There were a lot more detail from Dr. Fitness, so you will have to listen to the show to find out all the rest of these great tips. And I'm sure he'll post all the tips on his blog, even the ones we didn't get to tonight.
Another highlight of this show was Fat Guy talking about his new website www.GymsAreARipOff.com the Fat Guy thinks that gyms prey upon sedentary people and basically take their money knowing full well that they will stop going to the gym in a matter of weeks. So check out the Fat Guys Gyms Are A Rip Off and submit your gym horror story.
